Welcome to the month of April! This is the third edition of THE BRUCE BEAT, and I hope you have enjoyed everything you have read from me so far. I will continue to try my best to keep you informed and entertained!
I don’t know about you, but I am so glad we are into the spring season. I don’t hate winter or anything like that. But not only does the cold weather get a little old after a few long months, it feels awesome to be able to get outside in the nicer weather and to take in the beauty of the outdoors in our area, especially as it starts to bloom and come alive again! Also, the winter months seem to be the slowest time of year for the real estate market. People aren’t as likely to move during the holiday months and people are not as apt to go tour homes for sale when it is freezing outside. But now that the weather is more bearable and the days are longer because of the recent time change, people’s habits tend to change.
And it may just be the perfect time for you to move. Yes, the interest rates are still a bit on the high side, but they have come down a little in the past few months and we have seen no indication that they are going to drop significantly anytime soon. Plus, they are lower than they were last year. So, if you are itching to move, now may be your chance! There is plenty of inventory out there right now and one of those listed properties might just be your dream home! I would hate for you to miss out on that just because you are waiting for rates to drop. It costs you nothing to get together with me and set up a customized search of what you are looking for in a new home. The homes that fit your search criteria will be sent directly to your inbox. And the search will alert you when new homes hit the market within your criteria and when prices drop on houses within your search. So, if your dream home is out there and it is within your means, you should jump on it while you have the chance and then refinance later if the rates do happen to drop significantly. I mean, that is an option. And I have a list of lenders that you can reach out to and discuss that approach with if you want to get professional lending advice about that scenario.
With all of this said, please reach out to me if I can help you with any of your real estate needs and decisions. I absolutely enjoy doing this and I would love nothing more to have the opportunity to work with you too!
Here are some interesting Chattanooga facts and accolades, some from the past and some from more recent times. It is amazing to learn how Chattanooga was transformed into the beautiful city we love and call home today!
– Chattanooga, Tennessee was named the dirtiest city in the United States in 1969. The city’s heavy industry and unregulated emissions were to blame.
– The Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, Tennessee is consistently recognized as one of the best aquariums in the United States. It was named the country’s top aquarium in a 2024 Newsweek poll.
– Surrounded by mountains and the Tennessee River that winds through the heart of downtown, Chattanooga has earned a reputation as one of the best outdoor cities in the nation. In fact, Outside magazine (formerly Outdoor Magazine) has named Chattanooga the “Best Town Ever” twice (2011 & 2015) and one of the 24 Best Mountain Towns in the U.S. for 2022.
– Many call Chattanooga the “Allergy Capital of the United States”. Due to the mountains and valleys and a wide variety of trees that emit pollen in our area, we have a perfect storm of allergy irritants.
These are just a few that interested me the most. You can find more of the positive accolades and lists that Chattanooga was recently added to here.
Like most of the music lovers in the Chattanooga area, I am also a little bummed that both Riverbend and Moon River festivals will not be returning in 2025. While that was not a huge surprise to most people, it still hurts that we will not have a major music festival in downtown Chattanooga again this year. However, that is not to say that music is dead in our city. Just look at all of the major artists that will be making their way to our area this month. There are a lot of great local acts mixed in there as well. April is packed with so many options that it is a little overwhelming—but for a music enthusiast like myself, I cannot wait!!
