Welcome to the 4th issue of THE BRUCE BEAT, my monthly real estate newsletter. This edition is for May 2025, and I hope you enjoy it! I also hope you are enjoying how beautiful it is outside right now in the Chattanooga area, where we often see rain at this time of year. The rain just continues to liven up the area and turn everything green!
But where green means go in most cases, the real estate market is currently in somewhat of a standstill. And I get it—everyone is watching politics and what is going on with the financial market. I promise this is not turning political, so please continue to let me explain. There is plenty of inventory available right now in the Chattanooga area, but unless you have to move or buy, most people are choosing to hold onto their money and see what’s going to happen next. And this just isn’t in real estate. I have been in some capacity of sales for over 20 years, so I have a ton of friends and former colleagues that are also seeing slower sales in all types of industry. But let’s talk about real estate, because there is an opportunity here if you just think outside the box.
Feeling uncertain about your financial future and watching your retirement portfolio with concern is completely understandable right now. You are not alone. In times like these, many people are seeking alternatives that offer more stability and long-term growth.
That’s where real estate comes in. Real estate has long been recognized as one of the most dependable ways to build and preserve wealth. Whether you’re considering purchasing your first home, upgrading your current living situation, or expanding your investment portfolio, now might be the right time to take action. Unlike stocks or other volatile assets, real estate offers tangible value and the potential for both steady income and long-term appreciation. And with the right guidance, navigating the buying or investing process can be not only manageable—but also highly rewarding.
That’s where I come in. I’m here to be your trusted advisor every step of the way. From identifying the best opportunities on the market to negotiating with confidence and navigating all the paperwork, I’ll ensure your experience is seamless, efficient, and even enjoyable. The first—and often hardest—step is simply deciding to explore your options. But after you make that decision, you will not be alone. I’ll take care of the details so you can focus on your goals and what matters most to you. So, if you are interested in exploring your options in real estate, simply reach out to me and let’s get the conversation started!
Over the past 10 years or so, the secret of Chattanooga has continued to spread. Each year, there seems to be a new list that Chattanooga makes for a top vacation destination. Living here, that may surprise you because we are very different from a busy beach town and not as tourist driven as other mountain towns like Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. But if you start to compile a list of all of the activities that Chattanooga has to offer, it becomes a lot easier to see why someone would choose to bring their family to Chattanooga for a vacation—even if only for a weekend of fun!
If you ever have family or friends that reach out to you from outside our city, wanting to know what you would recommend if they visit here, you’re probably like me and immediately draw a blank. Or you could send them a link to the Chattanooga Tourism site at www.visitchattanooga.com. They do a fantastic job of keeping the site updated with upcoming events, along with lists of attractions and restaurants in our city. But that is what they do—they constantly try to drive tourism to our city and then provide visitors with options of things to do while here.
But wouldn’t it be nice for you to have a list of attractions or activities that you could send to people yourself? Don’t you want to seem like an expert on your own city? I get it—we live here and we often overlook all that Chattanooga has to offer. But that’s where I want to help. I have compiled a list for you. I’m sure I am leaving out a few things, but this should give you a good start on recommendations that you can send the next time you run into a scenario where someone comes to you for advice!
